How Often Should I Bring My Pet In? The American Veterinary Medical Association recommends twice a year wellness exams.
What are Wellness Exams? These are detailed exams conducted by your veterinarian on your pet. We recommend twice a year exams on all middle age to senior pets. When we conduct these, we also perform comprehensive blood work for early detection of problems and to establish a baseline.
What Does The Blood Work Tell Me? Full bloodwork allows us to screen for heartworm disease, thyroid disease, early kidney/liver problems, urinary issues, diabetes, infections and more.
On cats, it also allows us to screen for viruses like Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids.
What Vaccines Does My Dog Need? It depends on the age, risks and health of your pet. Our core vaccines include: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo/Adenovirus/Hepatitis/Leptospirosis Vaccines. Other recommended vaccines include: Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Canine Influenza Vaccine (CIV), and Lyme Vaccines.
My cat Is Strictly Indoors. Does It Need To Be Vaccinated? Yes. The law requires for your cat to receive his/her Rabies vaccines. We recommend also vaccinating all cats for Feline Distemper and upper respiratory viruses. We recommend Feline Leukemia Vaccines on all young cats and cats with contact to the outside.
